Expanded Food & Nutrition Education Program

Beatriz Rodriguez

Expanded Food & Nutrition Education Program Agent – Cameron County

The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP), provides food and nutrition education for limited-resource families with young children through the Texas AgriLife Extension Service, with funding from USDA.  In 2011, EFNEP programs assisted Texans in 11 counties including Cameron County.  EFNEP nutrition associates and assistants help low-income families and youth acquire the knowledge, skills, and changed behaviors necessary for nutritionally sound diets and contribute to their personal development and the improvement of total family diet and nutritional welfare. Cameron County EFNEP nutrition education associates and assistants teach in homes, schools, churches, and community agencies.

The Expanded Food & Nutrition Education program now offers FREE Distance Education Classes.
